The election process can be as hands-off or as involved as you need. This section pertains to information on controlling the general flow of your election process (Starting vote early, Extending voting window, etc).

1. Introduction to Election Process

In its simplest form, an election follows the following process:

Simple election process
  1. Your election is created.
  2. Once voting details are configured, election is manually activated.
  3. When start of voting window is reached, election is live and voting is enabled.

Additional Control

Not every election follows this simple path. Which is why your election has the tools to change the process however you need.

Jumping backwards
  1. If your election has been activated (but is not live) and you need to make more changes, you can de-activate election to continue editing.
  2. Live elections can also be reset back to inactive so you can make changes, but this will reset votes collected.

Jumping forwards
  1. If your election has been activated, you can start early to begin collecting votes immediately.
  2. At any point during a live election, you can choose to finish early, in order to close the election and access the results.

Multi-round Elections

Multi-round elections follow a slightly different flow than single-round elections.

  1. During live election, at any point you may start a New Round.
  2. This will Pause your election while you configure new ballots.
  3. When ready, Resume Voting to open your election back up to voting.
